Research
My research is driven by real problems in operations and sustainability, and I am motivated to have a practical impact on the systems that I study. I firmly believe that efficient management of operations requires a deep understanding of both ‘physics’ of the system and behavioral decision-making of the actors employed in it. I use system dynamics as a unifying framework, seeking to leverage qualitative and quantitative insights, leading to better mental models and improved decision-making in complex real-world systems. The contributions of my research are both theoretical, advancing our understanding of mechanisms responsible for generating the behavior modes observed, and practical, developing insights and addressing operational issues in the industry.
